James Sutherland is an independent artist currently based in the beautiful Northern Rivers in NSW, Australia. At 21 years of age, James has portrayed songwriting ability and craftsmanship beyond his years, piecing together honest stories about love, loss and mental health.

James has dedicated himself to writing, producing and releasing his own original music from just 18 years old. With multiple East Coast tours of Australia under his belt along with two 5 track EP’s there is no sign of James slowing down.

Throughout 2023, James teamed up with friend and Byron Bay local musician/producer, Adam Harpaz, to bring to life his sophomore EP, ‘Love, Obviously’ which has been welcomed with open arms from his listeners. Fusing together indie folk/rock and atmospheric layers, James has created his own distinct sound which is has been inspired by the likes of Sam Fender, Hozier and Ben Howard. James displays a unique perspective in his song writing, portraying personal stories and blending them with soft heartfelt acoustic melodies, addictive hooks and electric rhythm which is sure to get you dancing and singing along on your next road trip.
